Meet the Team - ACME

2024-01-19

The Middle East representative team, composed of WIL1AM, Faller, Zayed, Marble, and xpouya.

As they gear up for the competition, anticipation runs high regarding their potential to showcase remarkable performances in this tournament.

Today, we invited them, highly anticipated, to take on the interview.

  • Do you have a nickname among your friends or your CS community, and why do they call you by that nickname?

Faller: My nickname is Faller. Some friends are used to calling me by that name because it's easier for them and in the CS community that's the name I've known since I started my CS journey.

Marble: I'm just called Marble by friends, that's how people know me.

Xpouya: I just liked the nickname (Xpouya) and left it.

Zayed: My nick name actually came from my real name which was named after the President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan after his Death may god’s mercy be upon him.

WIL1AM: I like WILIAM so I kept it as that, it suits me.

  • Talk about your gaming background, when did you start playing CS, and what drew you to competitive gaming.

Faller: I started CSGO in 2017 for fun with my friends and never really took it seriously until 2020 when I found out about Faceit and started growing my name and putting myself out there in the cs community.

Marble: It was long back, started for fun in 1.6 then moved to dota then back to csgo  and now we are in CS2

Xpouya: I started playing cs since childhood, starting from the first grade I ran to the computer club to play cs 1.6 and this went on for a long time. I often took breaks from everything for years and literally about a year and a half ago I returned and started playing CS to my satisfaction.

Zayed: I started CSGO in 2014 as an 8 year old from my brother who got me into the game. Whatever drew me into competitive gaming is there's no point in playing the game and wasting hours not accomplishing anything.

WIL1AM: It was long back before when all my cousins and friends were still playing the game, we would play 10-man lanes with each other as well as 5-man stacks on matchmaking. Once everyone quit or stopped playing the game, I found ESEA/FACEIT and liked how there was a lot more to achieve than matchmaking especially with the cheater problem there. I quickly climbed the ranks and played (and beat) with the best from our country and region.

  • Tell us about your experiences traveling to tournaments, favorite events, and memorable moments from competitions.

Faller: I traveled and attended multiple tournaments in my career and my favorite CS tournament was the one hosted by Dubai police last month because of the atmosphere there and the people I met.

Marble: This will be my first time traveling to play and I hope to gain experience :)

Xpouya: I was never able to travel for tournaments because of no opportunities, but recently with more interest in CS2 here locally especially from Dubai Police and Zowie eXTREMESLAND, I am happy to attend my first international LAN. My favorite event would be the recent Dubai Police Esports Tournament.

Zayed: I have attended online tournaments only and 1 LAN tournament in Dubai Esports. Other than that i have never attended events and competitions

Player 5 (WIL1AM): I never got to travel outside the country or even my own city for a LAN tournament, always been busy with work or studies. Always have been playing online tournaments and sometimes local lans, but were never the same. I played in the recent Dubai Police Esports Tournament and it was my best experience. I enjoyed the event a lot. Hoping to do well and create good memories in China.

  • What’s your favorite CS map and preferred in-game role. How do you adapt their playstyle based on the map or their role?

Faller: My favorite CS map is Vertigo and my preferred in-game role is being the entry fragger the reason why I like Vertigo so much is that in Vertigo there are a lot of peeks that I like to swing as an entry fragger and a lot of aim duels that occur in that map that I won't find in any other map.

Marble: - I really like Ancient, newer maps with great balance. I play mainly lurk positions, as I like to make openings and gaps in enemies formations.

Xpouya: Since I play this game for fun, I feel comfortable on many maps but I enjoy Mirage and Ancient the most as I am able to make a lot of solo plays and catch enemies off guard. As for the role, I play a hybrid awp-rifle role. Sometimes when I am feeling it, I take the awp or if the awper in our team is having a bad game I pick it up and let him enter.

Zayed: My favorite maps are Mirage and Nuke, because i have such an aggressive playstyle in the CT side of these maps which allows me to perform really well And my Role is Secondary Entry and secondary awper but it could differ

WIL1AM: I like all the maps, except maybe inferno. It is a bad map. If I were to pinpoint to a specific map, I would put it as Mirage just because I have played it so much and enjoy it even more. My role is IGL, I am a good shot caller and am able to read the game and opponents quickly no matter where I play.

  • What’s your training routine? How do the team coordinate with each other, and what strategies do they use to improve teamwork?

Our training routine consists of practicing weekly for hours and differentiating between our mistakes and good plays, we would practice whenever the whole team is there and able to spend long hours to improve and build chemistry as a team. We focus on our mistakes more than anything to try our best to fix and avoid them.

It's a really good thing to focus on team dynamics, we as a team believe that building chemistry and building good coordination habits are the right ways to victory and we use vibes as a strategy for teamwork to improve because we also believe that a good relationship between the teammates can build a well-structured team

  • Share a message with your fans or offer advice to aspiring esports players.

If we would have a message to our fans it would be to grind non-stop, do the things you find fun.. Gaming is a fun hobby and getting into the competitive aspect of it is a whole new different kind of fun to have.
